Reviews and critisicisms of films, music, books and possible other forms of media

If you are a fan of the people of ThatGuyWithTheGlasses, these blogs are for you. Remember, these blogs are based on my own personal opinions, if you don't like my opinions, then please tell me yours. Don't be rude or anything, I'm sort of new to this. If you know nothing about ThatGuyWithTheGlasses, this is about some gimp who complains and talks about films or other forms of media. I'll talk about things that piss me off, or tribute to childhood classics. If there is anything that pissed you off, tell me. And comment! I've been doing these blogs for months and I only got one from my sibling. I've been told people just read them and don't comment. I want proof people are reading them.

Top 11 children's TV shows in my past. Part 2.

If you haven't read part 1, read it now before you move on. So let's skip the intro and get it over with.

6. That's so Raven.
OK, this is a pathetic show. The acting is sometimes rubbish, the jokes aren't always good and sometimes there is a stupid scene. But have you heard the phrase "it's so bad, it's so good"? It is just a very stupid show but somehow it's strangely addicting. It does have a good premise to it. A teenage girl who has psychic abilities to see into the future and sometimes the future is bad so she has to use stupid acts to prevent it happening. I always found it funny on how she finds out the future isn't going to go as she saw it, so she pretty much makes herself look like a fool. And it's also a nicely colourful show and even though the acting is rubbish, you can tell that they were trying their best just to do it, and you can tell the actors/actresses were enjoying their roles in the show. It does have a stupid last episode though. Raven thinks her brother Cory is smoking, though ironically he isn't, that's the last episode. Someone on YouTube suggested that Raven reveals she's psychic to the world. I think it would be a good ending, you just wonder what will happen afterwards. But my favourite episode is "True colours" when Raven tries to get a job at a shop, she doesn't get the job because she was black. I like it because it shows that racism is still around which is a good lesson for kids to know (in my opinion so they can face the real world), and I like the way Raven tries to get revenge, by disguises of course. All in all the show is pathetically good.

5. Sabrina the teenage witch.
It's also an addicting show, but doesn't have rubbish acting. There is nothing much to talk about since most people already knows this show. Just in case, it's a show about a teenage girl who's half mortal who has to train her magic which is a problem when teenagers have so many problems. Sabrina (played by Melissa Joan Hart) makes pun after pun after pun, and it's just deliciously entertaining the puns. If only in real life there was someone who made so many puns. And I don't mean annoying puns like Captain Planet's but more thought out puns. It wasn't just Sabrina I liked but also her cat Salem who was a witch/wizard turned into a cat after trying to take over the wizard world. They both make good puns but Sabrina's come out non stop. OK it's not non stop but it seems that way after several episodes. The problem is the show started to go down hill after season 5. My best advice, watch the seasons before Sabrina goes to college.

4. Fairly Odd parents.
The show is about a 10 year old boy called Timmy with fairies, Wanda and Cosmo, who grant him his every wish which always have dastardly consequences. He has many enemies for a litle boy, Vicki the evil babysitter, Crocker the evil fairy catching teacher and Francis the bully. The entire show is based on the phrase "becareful what you wish for" and the show empathises it so well. Like the episode when Timmy wishes for his imaginary friend to come to life, but after being ignored as if he was Timmy's old toys, he starts to hate Timmy and turn against him. The show is a little cheesy but like That's so Raven, it's perfect. with some of the best lines in children's shows history. My favourite line has to be from "Boys in the band" when Vicki kidnaps a singer she likes called Chip Skylark (thanks to Timmy's wishing) is:-
W: Well you know we can't use are magic to break true love?
T: So?
V: Hello my love, my true love from all the love from my heart. LOOOOVVVEEE!
T: Oh.

I was spliting my sides with laughter from that! So watch the show. Oh, and just so you're wondering, about the upcoming Fairly odd parents movie with real actors in it instead of cartoons...FAIL!!!!!!!!

3. Digimon. (But only season 1 and 2)
This is a weird show based on a strange anime. 7 random kids from a camp are suddenly taken away from some strange flood and taken to another world. They don't find out why there is strange creatures who seem to have been waiting for them. They don't find out anything about the world they're in but as the show progresses, they start to understand more about the world and how computer data was able to form a world and life. Wow, I heard of scientists trying to play God but wow. The show has great atmosphere and I like how they don't explain anything at first but soon start to find out why the creatures were waiting for them. Season 2 was a prequel with same great plot and lines but with different characters and the leader is so annoying you just want to scream "WE WANT TAI!". The 3 season was pathetic, instead of continuing the series, in that world Digimon was a fictional world. The next season, Digimon frontier was stupid. What, humans are actually able to change themselves into digimon are you high? The final one was stupid, there is some FBI type of agency that tries to keep digimon from the digital world to keep away, because for some reason digimon start to have some kind of war between humans. Man, it was lame. Like Sabrina, the show started to go down hill after a while. So watch season 1 and 2 on YouTube.

2. X-men evolution.
To be honest, when I was watching the old X-men series because it didn't seem so thriving. X-men evoloution empathises prejudicism against mutants more than the original. The effects seems more realistic and the way they make the mutants use their powers looks more real. They do have good character developments (except Jean Grey) but sometimes the characters are stupid. Mainly some of the students doing things like taking the X jet. The episode I did like was the one when we first see Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet witch who starts to plan against her father Magneto after he puts her in the asylum after her powers got out of control. Man Magneto is evil, I know he was sort representing for the mutants' rights but putting her in the asylum is not going to make mutants trust him. Aside from the monster of a father, I did like the episodes and I liked the scenes when the mutants fight against other mutants.

And the number 1 children's show of my past is...Shoebox Zoo.
Aside from all the child friendly and cheesy animated shows I mentioned, this one is dark and serious at times. Marnie is an American girl who moves to Scotland and after buying some animal figures from an antique store, everything goes weird. After playing about and saying "I command you to awake" the wooden wolf, stone bear, metal eagle and a cynical adder actually come to life! Well that's friggin' cool. She starts to find out sooner in each episode that the animals used to be students to some magical school trained under the great Michael Scott the wizard. They were transformed because they stole a book called the Book of Forbidden knowledge, and it turns out some villain is trying to find it as well. We start to find out more about why they stole the book and what the forbidden knowledge was. Believe me, either find it on YouTube or find it in a video store. Though it will be impossible, I tried it and couldn't find squatt.

So that's the Top 11, stay tuned for next time for my next blog.
